Mitchell Marner rocked a throwback basketball jersey and got the seal of approval from the NBA star who made it popular.

The Toronto Maple Leafs forward wore a vintage Stephen Curry Davidson College jersey to play a little tennis.

Marner wore the red No. 30 jersey that the four-time NBA champion made famous during the 2008 NCAA Tournament for tennis with teammates Auston Matthews and Michael Bunting . He posted some photos and a coolly shot video to Instagram .

Curry led the 10th seeded Davidson Wildcats to the 2008 Elite Eight with three straight gigantic upsets, beating No. 7 Gonzaga, No. 2 Georgetown and No. 3 Wisconsin before losing to No. 1 Kansas by a single basket, 59-57, to get to the Final Four.

The two-time NBA MVP, who went on to smash the NBA record for 3-pointers made in a single season and career, loved the sight of an NHL All-Star in his college jersey, tweeting "Thanks for the love Mitch!! 100 #TCC."

Marner was clearly happy to hear from Curry on his fashion choice.

Matthews and Bunting were also wearing pretty great throwbacks, both opting for the Vince Carter Toronto Raptors rookie jersey in home white.
