The birth of Dooz stems from Rachel's love of creative expression. She told In The Know, "I have always been passionate about art and design. I know that one day I want to do something in the creative field. I just don't know it must be my own business!"
Rachel did not initially create a brand with astrology as the theme. She only knew that she wanted to create unique costumes and help people connect with each other. "Fashion is a difficult industry to enter. It is difficult to be original in this industry," she told In The Know. "I just thought,'What is the unique perspective that shows your personality?'"
After a lot of brainstorming, Rachel decided to make astrology the theme of her brand. She explained: "Everyone knows what their zodiac sign is. This is the beginning of the conversation. This is a way to connect with people, and it's also a way to connect with yourself."
Now, Rachel has designed a series of astrology-themed clothing and accessories, all of which are produced in Los Angeles. She told In The Know that it is important for her to make her products in the United States as a way to support the local business and ensure quality control. "By manufacturing here, I can support other small businesses and I can work closely with my manufacturers," she explained.
Dooz products include handbags, accessories and clothing, all of which are designed for different constellations. One of Dooz's most popular products is a leather handbag with adjustable shoulder straps called Céleste Bag. "The Celeste bag is very special," she told In The Know. "This is handmade in Los Angeles with Italian lambskin. The back of each one is embossed with the Chinese zodiac."
When it comes to Dooz's future, Rachel believes that the sky is infinite. "I hope to always expand into more categories. I currently make clothing and accessories. I just started making some jewelry," she explained. "There are many new things on the horizon."
