The newest club in Los Angeles, Angel City FC, has not even started the game, but it has set a new standard for the National Women's Football League, with its first smooth black patterned jersey star-studded. Hollywood superstars and team investors Natalie Portman, Jennifer Garner and Eva Longoria led big-name players to show off the Angel City debut look. The City of Angels will start the game next season.

The jersey is mainly black, and the vertically arranged geometric fan-shaped pattern pays tribute to the zigzag pattern on the official flag of the city of Los Angeles. It also aptly symbolizes "the first light on the dark horizon and the beginning of a new day."

If it does not include some makeup colors, it would not be a suitable kit release, so Angel City showed off its two subtle but unique customized colors, "Sol Rosa" and "Armor".

Established in 2020, Angel City is the first professional women’s football team based in Los Angeles. Founded in 2020, it has a majority of female ownership groups, including Portman, Ghana and Longoria, as well as actor Jessica Chastain. Other celebrity supporters, including tennis superstar Serena Williams, and Billie Jean King, and several former USWNT players such as Julie Foudy, Abby Wambach and Mia Hamm also joined the ranks.

Although the box of the owner of the Angel City is full, the team's roster is still being formed. USWNT forward Christen Press (Christen Press) announced in August that he was the first player to join the expansion team.

In addition to the customized color scheme, the club’s Spanish and English mottos-"Volemos" and "Let's Fly"-are embossed on the back of the collar. As the club press release says, "As a reminder, always fly towards Higher height."

For the expansion team, this may sound like a lofty desire-such a team usually hobbles-but Angel City has established itself as the leader of NWSL off the court. Last month, the club announced a revenue sharing agreement to support NWSL's relatively low salary: by the end of 2022, 1% of net ticket revenue from all regular season home games will be evenly distributed to Angel City players. (This season, the minimum wage for NWSL players is only $21,000. The maximum wage for players who do not earn the so-called allocation is $52,500. This is a special payment mechanism that only some players are eligible for.)

As part of the jersey sponsorship model, Angel City vowed to donate nearly US$2 million to local community projects and charities with jersey partners in the next few years. Not bad for a club that hasn't played a game yet.

The corresponding first 2022 Angel City away jersey will be released in the near future. Please stay tuned for details.
