According to ESPN’s Greg Wyshynski, Adidas will not return as the NHL’s official supplier of apparel, including uniforms, after two more seasons.

ESPN learned that Adidas was not interested in extending the contract with the NHL, who has reached out to other apparel companies and communicated to them that they are looking for a replacement.

“The NHL and Adidas look forward to continuing to work closely together over the next two years and to a smooth transition to the new authentic NHL uniform supplier, which will be announced by the NHL at the appropriate time,” the NHL said in a statement.

Adidas, who was willing to pay at least double than Reebok did previously, replaced them as the league’s apparel company after the 2016-17 season and made the jerseys for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.

They must have lost a boatload. Oh well, C-ya.

Hope so, most of the retros were hideous, including the Caps’. Lots of the Classic jerseys are garbage too.

Did Adidas actually design those jerseys? Or did the NHL design them and Adidas only manufactured them?

The manufacturer obviously has a say in the design, although I believe the teams were mostly left to themselves to come up with an acceptable design/pattern.

Adidas although made good quality products never had any busisness making hockey jerseys as their best product design was and always will be running shoes. Maybe Under Armour willput in a bid as they have designed and made some awesome uniforms!

I guess Adidas is expecting a long recession.

Wondering what jersey the Caps will come up with for the Stadium Series game this year.

Hope it’s a road version of their current thirds
