Central New York hockey fans, here’s a new collectible for your shelf.
The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled new officially licensed, limited-edition vintage bobbleheads for the Syracuse Crunch and the Utica Comets on Friday. The bobbleheads are part of a new American Hockey League Vintage Bobblehead collection to kick off the 2022-2023 AHL season.
The Syracuse Crunch bobblehead features a smiling hockey player in a blue, silver and white jersey holding a hockey stick on a circular, ice-like base with the team’s name.
The Utica Comets bobblehead similarly features a smiling hockey player on an ice-like base with the team’s name, but sports a red, black and white uniform.

Both bobbleheads are individually numbered to 500 and only available through the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store. They cost $30 each, plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order.
All 32 AHL teams are getting vintage bobbleheads, including the Abbotsford Canucks, Bakersfield Condors, Belleville Senators, Bridgeport Islanders, Calgary Wranglers, Charlotte Checkers, Chicago Wolves, Cleveland Monsters, Coachella Valley Firebirds, Colorado Eagles, Grand Rapids Griffins, Hartford Wolf Pack, Henderson Silver Knights, Hershey Bears, Iowa Wild, Laval Rocket, Lehigh Valley Phantoms,Manitoba Moose, Milwaukee Admirals, Ontario Reign, Providence Bruins, Rochester Americans, Rockford IceHogs, San Diego Gulls, San Jose Barracuda, Springfield Thunderbirds, Syracuse Crunch, Texas Stars, Toronto Marlies, Tucson Roadrunners, Utica Comets, and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. A bobblehead featuring the American Hockey League colors and logo is also available.
The Crunch, the AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning since 2012, kick off the 2022-23 season Friday, Oct. 14 at the Cleveland Monsters. The game will be shown locally on the big screen in Destiny USA’s Canyon area during a free watch party hosted by the Syracuse Crunch starting at 6:30 p.m.; the event will include food and games from Bullfinch Brewpub and APEX Entertainment, plus a table to purchase Crunch tickets.
The Comets, the AHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, will kick off their season Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Hershey Bears.
